This notice explains what personal data Curated Silver collects when you use curatedsilver.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have. We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Curated Silver is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice by emailing admin@curatedsilver.com, or by post at Apartment 4, Granville House, 11 Ripon Road, Harrogate HG1 2JA, United Kingdom.
Browsing the site
You can browse the whole site without telling us who you are. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no third-party trackers on the site.
- Delivering pages. Like every website, our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS), handles your IP address to send you pages and to protect the site from abuse, for example by limiting how many requests one address can make. Our own server logs don’t record IP addresses or names, and are deleted after 30 days.
- Product photos. Photos of our pieces load directly from eBay’s image servers, so eBay receives your IP address and browser details when you view them.
- Buying. Every purchase is made on eBay. eBay handles your account, payment and delivery details under its own User Privacy Notice. As the seller, we receive from eBay the details needed to send your order, such as your name and delivery address, and use them only to fulfil your order and keep the records the law requires.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary, and only if you sign in. Because they are essential, we don’t need to ask for your consent to them. Neither cookie can be read by scripts on the page.

Signing in with eBay
Signing in is optional, and you don’t need to sign in to browse or buy. When you sign in, you do so on eBay’s own website, so we never see your eBay password.
- What we receive. eBay tells us your eBay user ID and username, and your first name if eBay provides it. eBay also gives us access tokens that allow only what you approved on eBay’s consent screen.
- Why. To sign you in and greet you by name. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing the sign-in you choose to use. We don’t use it to read your purchases, messages or listings.
- How long. These details and tokens are kept on our servers, never in your browser, for the length of your session (1 hour). They are deleted when you log out or the session ends.
- People who help run the site. For the few people we give extra access to, we also keep their eBay username, eBay user ID and the role we have given them, until that access is removed.
- Closing your eBay account. If you close your eBay account, eBay tells us, and we delete any data we hold about you from signing in.
Our mailing list
If you join our mailing list, we keep your name and email address, plus a record of when you agreed and the wording you agreed to. We use them only to send you the Curated Silver mailing list, based on your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by emailing admin@curatedsilver.com, and we then delete your details immediately.
Emails you send us
Emails sent to a curatedsilver.com address are received by AWS, which scans them for spam and viruses. A copy is kept on AWS for up to 30 days to help us fix delivery problems, and the email is forwarded to the inbox of the person you wrote to. We keep your email and our reply for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
Who else handles your data
We never sell your personal data or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use:
- Amazon Web Services to host the site, store data and handle email. Data is stored in AWS data centres in London. Pages are delivered through AWS’s worldwide network, which handles your IP address wherever you connect from.
- eBay for listings, purchases and signing in.
- Our email provider, which holds the emails forwarded to our inboxes.

Keeping your data safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data. It is encrypted when stored and when sent over the internet, and access is restricted to the people who need it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you or another organisation. You can object to us using it, and where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email admin@curatedsilver.com. We will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
